Askol’dova a grave is part of park complex on the slopes of right bank of Dnepr. In ancient times this locality was named the Ugorskim natural boundary. In obedience to legend, near-by this place, ashore Dnepr, in 882 a prince Oleg put to death the Kievan princes of Askol’da and Dira. After it a prince to Oleg succeeded to occupy a princely throne, and he became the talented ruler of Rus. And Askol’d and his brother were buried on a that place, where were killed. Chronics testify that Askol’d was called on a rule Kievites. There is information about that, that he was baptized in Car’grade in 860-e years, Nick accepted the christian name and undertook attempts to spread christianity on Rus.
